Tropical Rugs - Bring Some of the Tropics Indoors

Tropical rugs can be rugs made with natural fibers traditionally found in tropical areas. They can also just be any rug with a tropical theme.

Area rugs made of bamboo and sea grass are very popular for all kinds of decor. At the same time, a large palm tree area rug looks great in a summer home or even in very cold climates where the rug will remind you of warm sunny days to come.

Many bathrooms have a tropical theme. You can find shower curtains, rugs, and toilet seat covers with fish, frogs, and other ocean or tropical themes. Frog rugs can be those exotic with prints of tropical poisonous frogs or fun like the Frog Prince Collection geared toward teens and young women.

Fish rugs look great in any tropical or ocean-themed room. Kitchens are now becoming a popular room for tropical fish themes, and a fish rug would fit in well with that dˇcor.

Environmentally conscious people with modern decors are likely to use a tropical rug made of bamboo or other environmentally friendly materials. These type of rugs are less expensive and generally last much longer than woven or hooked rugs. The natural fiber rugs can better survive high traffic areas. These rugs are also very easy to care for.

Whichever design elements you use to bring the tropics into your home, a tropical rug is likely to liven up a room. An added bonus: studies suggest that brighter colors and outdoor themed designs are better for people who suffer from seasonal depression.
