A Surfboard Rug to Jazz Up the Bedroom or Bathroom!
A surfboard rug in a kid’s bedroom? The 1950s retro Hawaiian Luow look is a very popular look for kids' rooms today. What’s not to like for the parents, either? Bright colors, retro designs, and you’ll wish you were a kid, too! Bedroom accessories that complement surfboard rugs include lamps, bed sets, and posters with the Hawaiian influence.
If you are adventurous, add a life sized Hawaiian rug surfboard to your retro 1960s living room. Along with your funky lights and side tables, it will be the talk of all that come visit. Life size surfboard throw rugs come in floral prints as well as classic pinstripes. They also make great hallway rugs. You can even take the surfboard motif outside with an outside bristle rug shaped like a surfboard.
Another way you can use a surfboard shaped area rug is in the bathroom. With a bright shower curtain and coordinating towels, you can give a bathroom a very beachy feel to it. Finish it off with some shell accents and a retro poster or art work of a hula girl. If you like the look of a Hawaiian floral print but can’t fit a surfboard into your decor, you can find other sizes like the oval throw rug called a “skim board.” Buy a smaller oval throw rug decorated with the same floral print that comes on the surfboard and tie it in with some hula girl dishcloths and a set of tiki glasses for your kitchen.
Your kids will love the surfboard shaped rug plus all of the Hawaiian décor as long as you don’t make them listen to Elvis or the Beach Boys!
