Country Rugs Give a Finished Look to Country-Themed Decor

No longer confined to the wildly popular rooster and sunflower area rugs, the variety of rugs that complement country decor is almost endless! Rugs for country decor come in a dazzling array of patterns, shapes and sizes. From large rugs to small; from farm-scene rugs to braided, finding a rug to fit a country room is a snap.

It is not at all uncommon to find oval, square, round area rugs, and even octagon rugs with country themes. No longer limited to roosters, sunflowers, and chickens, country decorating has expanded to include French country or provincial styles, many floral designs, and many patterns including toile, plaids, and gingham.

In the past, braided rugs were the standard for country themed homes. These braided rugs were usually simply made and soon well worn. The braided area rug has come a long way. Now, a braided rug that is made of special space-age material can be used inside or out; making this popular style a continuing best seller. When these new hi-tech rugs gets dirty, simply hose it off. Or, if they're small enough, pop them into the washing machine. Because braided rugs are patterned on both sides, they are crafted for longer wear. When using a braided rug to spice up your country decor, be sure to place a rug pad between a linoleum or hardwood floor, or a rug backed with non-slip tread to prevent sliding and injuries.

Rethink country! There are dozens of updated country looks that compliment most every area in your home. Modern country gives homey comfort of a traditional country design presented in a smarter, more sophisticated way.
